subject: wtf are namespaces for?

Hmm.. so if I were to say mix nodelist, packet, TIC and attachment data
into the same XML file, would I use namespaces or just ordinary elements at
the top level?

It seems easier to find trees in DOM (dunno about SAX) with namespaces...
so if my application were only interested in the FTN nodelist data out of a
composite XML file (which may or may not be limited to FTN related data), I
just have to tell it the namespace and it will return the relevant object
no matter where in the XML it occurs.

If that's the case, might as well define a namespace for FTN Nodelist data now :)
