If you have to try that, you're doing it wrong. My
previous mobile phone was an inexpensive Nokia 6301b. When I plugged that
into a Unix or Linux computer, it looked to the computer just like a USB
modem. On several occasions I used "cu" to connect to a dial-up
BBS or other remote host.
