Doubt it. I'd suggest that the problems may also be related to the phone
lines.

Since your ISP is using the X2 flavor of 56k, I would NOT suggest switching
to a k56Flex version of 56k. If you want to get a *real* motorola chip based
56k modem, you might be better off to get a USR for maximum compatibility
with your ISP. Then again, 56k is a LOT more sensitive to phone line
conditions and if you don't have the *absolute* best lines, you're likely to
have modem problems.
