That's one of the reasons why I collect RCs.. they usually maintain their
value. Of course, there are lots of great looking inserts out there.. but it
sickens me to no end when the 3859480589405th issue of Gretzky is produced in
a month. :) Too bad that hockey card RCs are the worthless of the 4 major
sports that produce sport cards.. I guess it's because of hockey's popularity
is 4th in the United States, and that you can easily get RCs of a lot of
great current players like Bure, Forsberg, Selanne, Kariya, Jagr .... or
rather Hockey RCs are relatively cheaper than say.. basketball or baseball..
for example, the most expensive RC (non-parallel) of the 1990s is the 1996-97
Upper Deck Black Diamond Joe Thornton RC, which books for 60 bucks.. compare
that to a 95-96 (or is it 96-97) Topps Chrome Kobe Bryant RC for 300 bucks..
blah.. :) the next expensive RCs of the 1990s is the 1990-91 OPC Premier Jagr
RC which books for 30$, the 1996-97 Upper Deck Black Diamond Patrick Lalime
RC (not for long) for 30$, the 1991-92 Upper Deck WJC Czech Paul Kariya XRC
for 25$, and the 1992-93 Upper Deck Paul Kariya RC for 20$.. and there are a
lot of 1990's basketball RCs that sell for more than 30$... Kevin Garnett,
Shawn Kemp, Kobe Bryant, Allan Iverson, etc.. blah.. I'm no basketball fan..
heh.. and don't get me started on Baseball RCs.. whew!
KT> it? He also got the Duoview auto. of Jagr from the
KT> SP last year. Lucky guy... too bad i'm not loaded
KT> like him. Heck, if i was, i'd get a box of
KT> everything just like him. At least that increases
KT> my chances of getting something good! Hey... hold
KT> on a sec..... i need a job :)
Bah.. your uncle spends too much money on hockey card products that he might
as well buy the cards themselves! But I guess the only advantage is
that he hand-collects a helluva lot of expensive sets.. :) Hm.. I wonder if
we ever going to trade cards.. heh.. :P
