Assymetric connect speeds have virtually no effect on file transfers. Heck,
I transferred many files using HST at 16,800 in one direction and 450 in the
other.
In the case above, one modem is transmitting at 28800 and receiving at 31200
while the other end is transmitting at 31200 and receiving at 28800. A
rather normal situation using V.34 for instance.
