Okay, I know I've been a bad girl. But in my defense, within the last two
weeks, I've been sick twice, had a visitor from out of town, and totalled
my car. Anyway, back to the important stuff of life: soaps.  :-)

DOOL    -  This Labor Day Weekend had one Days of Our Lives veteran out
        of a job, at least in cyberspace. A rumor, originating on a fan
        website, stated that Drake Hogestyn (John), who has been an
        integral part of Days since 1986, had received his walking
        papers. With a rash of firings reported at the show, which
        include high profilers Matt Ashford (Jack), James Reynolds (Abe),
        Suzanne Rogers (Maggie) and several crew members, the Internet
        post quickly gained momentum and caused quite a stir by the
        week's onset. While Days's rarely comments on contract rumors, a
        show rep reassures TV Guide Online that this is one release
        "that's not true." The fabricated post ruffled feathers behind
        the scenes at Days. "It has caused some problems," one source
        whispers to TV Guide Online, adding that the show may seek to
        reprimand the source of the ruse.
