While tripping merrily through the mail, JOHN RUDGE was overheard
JR> I have a select few 78s and would you have any information as
JR> far as value goes for the following:
 JR> "Daylight Saving Time"
JR> "Don't look Back" ......GRANDPA JONES (Decca label) 30655
I'm not a big country follower, so I really can't give you a qualified
answer. I don't see any any Decca 30000 numbers in my database so I
can't even date it for you. Just a "gut feeling" off the top of my
head, I'd say, in VG condition, maybe $5-10.
 JR> "At the Hop"
JR> "Sometimes" ............DANNY & THE JUNIORS (Sparton) 516R
Interesting. The first release of that record was on the "Singular"
lable in 1957. Copies today of the 45 are going for anywhere from
$ 100.00 to $ 350.00 in VG to NM condition. When they achieved some
recognition, the record was reissed by ABC Paramont, which is the copy
that was sold nationally. These are readily available at about $ 3.00
to $ 15.00 a copy. Since 1957 was the last year 78's were produced in
the US, I wonder if what you have may be a British import. It's not
an original, but may have some residual value as a curiosity. I would
NOT expect to see anything like the "Singular" prices, but if it's in
VG shape, it COULD be more than the common ABC release.
 JR> "She Loves to Rock"
JR> "In Self Defense" ..........THE FLAIRS (Sparton) 264R
JR> I have no idea who the Flairs are so if you have any background
JR> information about the band, it would be appreciated. The song "She
JR> Loves to Rock" is almost an exact duplicate of "Rock around the Clock"
 JR> but with different lyrics.
I'm not finding anything at all on this one, although there was a group
called the "Flairs" who did one release on the budget (99 cent LP)
"Crown" lable in 1963. Crown was part of "Sythetic Plastics Corp." who
had a number of budget lables like this, using studio musicians to put
together groups that "mimiced" popular groups of the time, usually going
nowhere, although one, "Scatman" Crothers had considerable success on
their "Tops" lable. Again, becaus of the time frame, these are sounding
more and more like imports, the British version of the various US "Budget"
lables.
Wish I could be of more help.
