Subject: [OS2HW] mixing 10mb hub with 100mb router

Have old Compaq Netelligent 16 port hub 10Mbs which am thinking to add to
network with 100Mbs router.
Would this cause problems with differing speeds? Is fine with lower speeds on
hubbed computers. Would
such setup slow entire network?

ifconfig lan0 192.168.1.100 netmask 255.255.255.0 metric 1 mtu 1480
route add default 192.168.1.1 -hopcount 1

Anything else to change if hopcount and metric bumped to 2? Do have other
100Mbs routers. Better to add
another router than slow hub? Or do I really need a hub?

        Cal
