DD>78's are a funny market. The "Big Hits" from the 40's, early 50's
DD>(read "Glenn Miller" / "Bing Crosby" etc.) are for all intents and
DD>purposes "worthless" (I've bought hundreds at a quater each or less).
DD>Country 78's are actually worth more than 45's, while for "Rock & Roll"
DD>collectors prefer the 45. Some of the most valuable 78's are the 1930's
DD>and 40's "Race" records (black artists, usually Blues) on lables like
DD>Bluebird and Brunswick.
I have a select few 78s and would you have any information as
far as value goes for the following:
"Daylight Saving Time"
"Don't look Back" ......GRANDPA JONES (Decca label) 30655
"At the Hop"
"Sometimes" ............DANNY & THE JUNIORS (Sparton) 516R
"She Loves to Rock"
"In Self Defense" ..........THE FLAIRS (Sparton) 264R
I have no idea who the Flairs are so if you have any background
information about the band, it would be appreciated. The song "She Loves
to Rock" is almost an exact duplicate of "Rock around the Clock" but
with different lyrics.
