While tripping merrily through the mail, Lynn Beasley was overheard
LB> No, I don't plan to sell. I'm trying to get worth together for
LB> insurance purposes. I always run into things around here that I'm
LB> curious about the value of. According to the prices here, all the
LB> albums that I've collected together MIGHT be worth $200.00. Now, I
LB> have a lot of OLD 45s.... :>
I know the feeling. On paper, my personal collection is about $50,000.00.
If I were to sell it today I would probably get about $4000 for it.
BTW, on those "old" 45's, in VG condition, most "hit" 45's from the 50's
are worth about $8.00, from the 60's, about $5.00, from the 70's about
$2.00. Now if you had any Elvis 78's on Sun.................:-)
LB> There isn't a mention of Apple on this album, and the labels are
LB> Capitol, but I bought it about 19 years ago and it was old then. But
LB> it doesn't have a number on the front.
LB> Mine has an SWBO 101 inside with the Capitol logo.
That one I've never seen. You should ask your Sysop to pick up the "Beatles"
echo, and ask about it over there (In fact I'm going to toss the question
out). EVERY copy of the white album I've ever seen has the Apple lable
(FWIW, my copy is a first pressing, s/n 0642395, without the photos. )
LB> Oops! Sorry, I have the Magical Mystery Tour. It's on the Apple label
LB> with the Capitol and EMI logos. Number 2835. It's in Good condition.
LB> BTW, thanks for the help with the conditions. :>
That's going to be one of the reissues. If the small print on the bottom
says "a subsidiary of Capitol Records" it's the 1968 release, prices from
$5.00 to $40.00. "Mfg. by Apple Records" is the 1970 release, $3.00 -
$20.00. If it also has a disclaimer "all rights reserved" it's the 1974
release, $2.00 to $12.00.
> "Look At Us" (1965)
> Atco 33-177 (m) 15.00 6.00 2.00
LB> This is the one I have.
So do I :-)
LB> Thanks again Don,
You're welcome.
