___Infinite Technologies To Debut Voice-based E-mail Helper ___
Infinite Technologies will today unveil Infinite Voice, a
voice-based E-mail attendant, that lets users check and
reply to E-mail messages over a telephone. The company says
the product will benefit corporate travelers, who will be
able to stay in contact with the office without having to
lug around a computer or to find an Internet hookup.
Infinite Voice can also handle voice messaging within E-
mail. The system lets E-mail notify users of incoming calls,
and voice messages can be left on the E-mail to be retrieved
by either the computer or the telephone.
Infinite Voice converts text to speech to read E-mail
messages, and when a user responds to E-mail, the reply is
recorded as a sound file and attached to an E-mail message.
The product will work with Microsoft Mail, Microsoft
Exchange, Lotus Notes, Lotus cc:Mail, and other applications
that support IMAP4, POP3, and SMTP messaging protocols. The
product will be available July 1, with prices starting at
$249 for a 10-user copy. -- Jeff Sweat
