My ISP offers both K56Flex and X2 lines.  I read LOTS of messages about
both, especially in the local support newsgroup, before settling on a
Flex modem, since the majority of users of that on my ISP had fewer
problems, and generally better connections and transfer rates.
That MAY not hold true other places.
