 You missed an example given in the course of the discussion,
 which showed how it's done with a line such as
    if Length(GetEnvStr("windir")) Alarm() endif

 There's nothing in the Index that *starts* with "env", but if
 you do a global search, you do eventually turn up GetEnvStr().
 In cases like this it's sometimes worth doing a Copy() of the
 Index list to search it for parts that aren't also beginnings
 of words, so that a search for "file" can turn up stuff like
 NumFiles() or AskFilename().
