I recall these modems that came out a few years ago, not sure if they are
stillbeing made.. but they pushed some of the processing off to the main CPU
ansd as a result U needed to run it in windows only... I guess a good test to
see if it's somethings as simple as that is to get a few other dos programs
to see if the modem works fine... is there a BBS involved... try to get it to
answer the modem alone and see what happends from there....

There's  just an idea...
