Iginla is playing for the flames, 'nuff said. Who knows what would have
happened if Iginla stayed with the Stars; I would assume he would have gotten
better with the Star's deep lineup, and would have more hobby recognition
since he would have played for an American team. On the other hand, Dallas
isn't exactly a great place to collect hockey cards (other than the fact that
Score/Pinnacle and Beckett have their HQs in Texas)
KT> see it, he's already reached his potential. BTW-
KT> get rid of all those Thornton RCs if u have any!
KT> He's another dud in the pile of over-rated rookies

Being an RC collector, one would assume that I would have kept a few
Thorntons in my collection. However, I stick to my old rule of "look at the
guy for 10 games, and see if he does well". Since Thornton was (and is)
crappy in terms of stats, I chose not to buy any of his RCs until he starts
to perk up. I too didn't seem to like Thornton (as did with Philips, Daigle,
and to a lesser extent Owen Nolan and Mats Sundin) An example of a cheap RC
with lots of potential is Dmitri Nabokov, who is doing quite well for
Chicago. He's listed in the 94-95 Select. I would also see folks like
Friesen, Langenbrunner, Hnat Domenichelli, and Andrei Petrunin as good and
cheap RCs to collect. They have issues in the 93-94 Pinnacle/Upper Deck,
93-94 Pinnacle/Upper Deck, 95-96 Upper Deck, and 94-95 SP respectively. Oh
well.. so you're not trading your Ohlunds or Berards? :> Gee.. I guess I'll
have to see if I pull some expensive 1000-dollar Kariya insert or something
to bring about a trade.. hah! Later, then.
