W. created small trays/ashtrays to represent the four suits of cards: hearts,
spades, diamonds, clubs. We had three of the four and found/bought the
fourth in the pale blue. We found a pretty vase, about 8" tall, in the dark
blue with white overlay, and a small box in the dark blue.

I placed a pale green box (a 6" round box) with a peaked steeple on the lid,
heavily overlayed in the white, on consignment with a large local antique
store yesterday for three months. Today we visited a antique mall in Fort
Worth and found several really unusual pieces and bought six. We passed on a
yellow cane pattern tea set and a dark blue tea set, each priced at $375. We
found two large heart boxes but one was too high so we passed on it. Later
walking another isle, we found the same piece for $50 less - bought it - then
returned and bought the second heart we initially saw with the over-priced
one. That gives us a pale blue, a pale green and a lovely darker green that
is hard to describe as it shows different hues when viewed. We also
purchased a very unusual tray, terra cota in color (a tannish mauve?), and a
small pale green box about 2" x 4", and a small pale blue vase. There were
several other unusual pieces we would like to have had but funds only stretch
so far... Will antique more next year but on a more organized basis.
