Yup, that's where we are!

I'm not all that "appreciative" of antiques in general, but it is interesting
to see what is out there and what people are willing to pay--particularly
when I see toys from my childhood with these fantastic prices on them. I
have the Wedgwood, a piece of Carnival glass that was handed down to me by a
relative, some milk glass that was a gift, plus a few pieces I found here and
there that I really liked.
There's one place here in particular that is a really great place to browse:
it is an old building from the early years of the town, a really huge place,
which is an Antique Mall. People rent "booth space" and show the goodies in
glass cases, so you have rooms and rooms of row upon row of showcases with
miscellaneous assortments of interesting things. It means you really have to
look to seek out something you want, but it is great fun to look. You can
spend a whole day browsing that place and still not see everything.
The upper floors of the building are dedicated to furniture. Here you find a
lot of that "Mission" stuff: really heavy duty, highly utilitarian and ugly
as sin. My jaw drops every time I read price tags in that section. Again,
it's a real learning experience, though.
FS> Thanx for your reply and offer of help!
I'll try to do what I can. It will give me an excuse to spend a day browsing
the "mall" place. :-) That's where I saw the Wedgwood--and books--last
me.
