PE> 6. If you are going to point off me, are you going to PE> try to use a variant of DD to get the mail? MP> No. I want to use a very simple Fido compatible mailer. PE> DD *is* a very simple fido compatible mailer! BFN. Paul. You are depressingly accurate. :-) Anyway, I was thinking of using a Linux one called Nixmail. Won't handle incoming calls, but as a point I needn't worry about such things. It's dead easy to configure, as long as I read the docs properly. Funny story actually, I was using Nixmail a while ago, and I'd configured it so that my machine thought it was my uplink. So off it dials, connects and tells my uplink that I'm it. Funnily enough, my uplink told my machine to go get stuffed. Worked out what the problem was eventually. Was something similar to out \o octal problem, ie not reading docs properly. Anyway, I've got a request to make. Could you please send Ted Harrison of 3:712/624 a message saying that I'm really sorry sorry about all the hassles that I'v caused him with the Fido Feed, and that technical problems all came upon me at once, and I'll send him a full and complete apology ASAP. I'd do it myself but Fidonetmail here is dead as a tack/doornail/dead thing. :-) Thanks for that, see ya (type to ya?) later. --- Maximus/2 2.01wb* Origin: Ten Minute Limit (3:711/934) SEEN-BY: 711/934 |
