RULES FOR AMY_TECH
==================
(Revised November 2, 2003)
All points linked into this echo are assumed to have read these rules below
and it is therefore assumed that you are familiar with them and will abide
by them.
Anyone found to be in breach of these rules will be warned in NETMAIL,
assuming that the netmail address they use is valid. Failing that, the
moderator reserves the right to warn you in this echo. Anyone who receives
a warning may have their access reduced or denied if they do not do any-
thing to rectify the situation.
The rules are laid down below so as to make life easier for other users as
well as the moderator. Please respect these rules and abide by them at ALL
times.
NOTE:
This echo is NOT bound by ECHOPOL1, ECROC, nor ANY OTHER form of echo
policy. The moderator is the ULTIMATE authority in this echo. If you
have a problem with the echo, do not go to the NEC or REC, do not start
a poll or take a vote, come to me. That's why I'm here.
The AMY_TECH Echo is the sole property of the moderator and not the
property of its participants. You agree that access to this echo is a
priviledge, not a right.
1 ABOUT THE ECHO
AMY_TECH is for the discussion of any form of Amiga Technical Support.
Discussion of anything technically related to the Amiga is perfectly
acceptable. Bashing of any other systems as a "comparison" is not.
2 ADVERTISING
Advertising is strictly forbidden in the echo, as is anything resembling
advertising.
3 BEHAVIOR
All users are expected to act as civilized adults, treating each other
with courtesy and respect. This area covers a wide area of topics and
as long as it is Amiga related it is acceptable.
We ask that you do not cross the line into personal attack. As a guide
to whether or not a comment is acceptable, ask yourself whether you
would be happy if someone addressed your wife/husband/partner in that
way. This is *NOT* a flame echo and flaming will not be tolerated.
If you have a problem with another user, take it to *NETMAIL*.
4 USER NAMES
We want to know with whom we are dealing. Please use your real name in
the `From:' field of each message at all times. If for some reason you
cannot have your name in the from field then it MUST be clearly visible
in your signature.
5 TECHNICAL STUFF
To prevent technical difficulties, please restrict messages to those
characters you would expect to find on a typewriter keyboard. This
means no high-ASCII (except the pound sign) and no ANSI graphics.
6 DISCLAIMER
The moderator will not accept liability for any messages posted here. All
messages posted represent the views of the author(s) of the message and not
those of the persons involved in distributing the echo. As always, check
for accuracy of the facts.
7 QUOTING TEXT
Please quote only enough to remind participants of what was previously
said. It is not necessary to quote headers, origin lines, kludges, paths
or signature lines. This will save your sysop's phone bills as well as
your own.
Quoting well is considered good etiquette. Please only quote what you
feel is neccessary for the receiving person to understand what the
message is about.
PLEASE REFRAIN FROM QUOTING FULL MESSAGES WHEN REPLYING TO MAIL.
8 SIGNATURE LINES
Please restrict signature lines to 3 lines or less.
9 TAGLINES
Please feel free to add taglines to the end of your message as it adds a
bit of humor to the message, but please keep taglines to no longer than
3 lines. Discretion is advised in any event.
10 LANGUAGE
The official recognized language of the echo is English.
11 TOPICS
If the subject changes from one message to another please amend the
subject line in any header to reflect this change.
12 MODERATION
These rules are laid down by the moderator and you are asked to abide
by same at all times. All moderation will be carried out in NETMAIL,
but if this is not possible due to any technical difficulty then
moderation will be carried out in this echo. The moderator will at all
times try to use Netmail first followed by EchoMail should the netmail
not produce the desired result.
A user who breaks the rules will receive a written warning and upon a
user receiving a third written warning he/she may be banned from
having access to the echo.
For comments, suggestions or complaints, contact the moderator by
NETMAIL at 1:3613/1275.12
