V.90 will be ratified in September.  The specification is available now, 
though, and some manufacturers are shipping V.90 modems as we speak.
Zoom has, I believe, a free upgrade offer from K56Flex to V.90.  However, 
Zoom K56Flex modems cannot have both protocols available when you call - you 
must select either K56Flex or V.90 as part of your modem configuration.  New 
production Zoom V.90 modems, though, _do_ allow the modem to connect with 
either V.90 or K56Flex without user intervention.
3Com/USR modems will allow the modem to connect with either V.90 or X2 
without user intervention.
