You've been reading Rockwell press releases again. :-)  V.90 contains 
elements of both X2 and K56Flex.
What's compatible with V.90?  Why, V.90, of course.
If you want to connect using V.90, you have to upgrade your modem to V.90.  
Just as in the past if you wanted to connect to a V.34 system you had to 
upgrade your modem to V.34.
