PA> I recently (today) started using QEdit, because friends have told
PA> me it's better than the editor I was using before.
PA> Frankly, I'm not impressed. The block selection is horribly
PA> unintuitive, and I can't get the sort function to work at all.
PA> What am I doing wrong?
ST> There are three different block functions: Alt-A blocks a letter
or
ST> word at a time, Alt-L blocks entire lines, and Alt-K blocks
ST> columns. The Sort function only works with the column block.
ST> Mark the beginning of the items you want to sort with Alt-K, move
ST> to the end of the line with either the End key or Ctrl-Right
ST> Arrow. Then Down Arrow or PageDown to the last line you want
ST> included in the sort and type another Alt-K to mark the end of the
ST> column. Now try the Sort command.
   Okay, I'll try that. Thanks.
 ST> Your friends are
ST> correct - Qedit, now called TSE Jr, is one of the best text
ST> editors available. You just need to get onto it a little more or
ST> skim through the docs. As far as it not being intuitive goes, you
ST> can customize the commands to your own preference.
I appear to have an old version, and I didn't get any docs with it. I'll
have to mosey around and try and find a newer one.
   Thanks for your help.
