Hooboy. Don't get me started on Gates as the Antichrist. I'm waiting for
our IS folks to convert our whole enterprise to the new NT. I believe
that most of the egregious flaws in 95 are due to its preemie-ness. My IS
contact person says that nobody who's beta-tested Win97 is exactly bowled
over with its wonderfulness either. Don't know what to tell yah. I'm
still clunking along with 3.1.
On to moosik: I just threatened Dominique with the loan of my latest CD
ack--Joanna Connor's "Big Girl Blues". I've only been through it (or most
of it) once, but it didn't knock me out like, say, Debbie Davies; but I
have to give it another listen to be able to say why. Good parts of the
first impression are a) good thrashing of her Les Paul and b) I liked some
of the lyrics--I think the majority of the tunes on here are original--but
I'll have to check the booklet. Jury's still out, anyway.
I'm on a Dylan kick lately--got _Blonde on Blonde_ and _Highway 61
Revisited_ (I've had _The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan_ for ~2 years) and have
enjoyed listening to them again. But I need to get _Bringing It All Back
Home_ and play a couple of its tunes for my eldest daughter--the "I'm 15
and I know everything and most of it sucks" one. Just want to show her
that there's still some ore to be found in Zimmerman's words. (It's
probably "It's All Right Ma" that started this process).
And another person on the local is looking for Style Council videos. If
you know of any sources, you could make me look good (for a change). :)
