       I beat him at level 33.  Go to the options screen (the one with Items, 
Magic, Materia, etc.) and make your whole party stand in the back row.  The 
best thing to do is to attack and use magic against that mini-boss.  If 
you're 
going to attack, keep your attacker in the front row.  The only summon I 
would recommend is Bahamat.  Make sure you've got Restore Materia linked with 
the most powerful All Materia.  You should be able to beat him.  If it still 
doesn't work, try advantsing levels.
