Hi Robert,

 > What's VICE?

You aren't serious ? Ok, VICE is the Versatile Commodore Emulator,
currently at version 1.10, released in September 2002 & it's been
around for a while - from it's DOCs :

Start:

VICE is a Versatile Commodore Emulator, i.e. a program that runs on a Unix,
MS-DOS, Win95/NT, OS/2, Acorn RISC OS or BeOS machine and executes programs
intended for the old 8-bit Commodore computers. The current version
emulates the C64, the C128, the VIC20, all the PET models (except the
SuperPET 9000, which is out of line anyway) and the CBM-II (aka C610).

:Finish

These days it's pretty much all I use for Commodore computing (especially
since they incorporated 128 80 col mode & it boots & runs CP/M
quite nicely thankyou). Plus/4 support isn't there yet, though it's being
worked on.

VICE's homepage is http://viceteam.bei.t-online.de/#vice

I'll probably get stomped on now for promoting an emulator! But, IMHO it's
what a lot of people are doing now. It is simply too cumbersome & takes
too much space to set up several Commie systems for use.

cheers,

Lance
