-=> Quoting Grant Batdorf to Chris Ogniben <=-
GB> Well, I won't quote your message, because it was pretty long, but it
GB> was the one about the US open. It just finished yesterday. 13th seed
GB> Patrick Rafter won on the men's side. I was glad to see him win. I
GB> didn't want Rusedski to win, because of the fact that he was born
GB> here, but now considers himself a Brit. As a pround Canadian, I don't
GB> really like to see that. But that's his choice, so I shouldn't really
GB> hold it against him, but I still liked to see Rafter beat him. I am
GB> also kinda glad that Chang didn't win. I haven't liked him ever since
GB> that cheap play he made against Ivan Lendl. That was years ago, but it
GB> was still cheap. I would have liked to see Rios get it, or Samprass,
GB> but I am happy with the Aussie Rafter.
I am sorry i took so long to respond to your message. Since by
now you probably wondering why i didn't respond. You see i moved to another
location in the state of New Jersey which means i couldn't call locally to
he
bbs that i wrote the message from. So until i was able to download offline
mail and read messages again that i now come across this message. So i am
sorry for all this but i am sure you be happy to hear from me to let you know
why it took this long to respond. Next time it won't be as long. But
nstead
of getting into details of that i just going to respond to what you said here
which is better late than never. First thanks for responding and yes i agree
with you with Patrick Rafter winning. Even though i am a American that i
don't
like to see to many American tennis players win. I like to see other players
beat the Americans in any sport. Just the way i am, but i am happy to be an
American and living in this country. Just don't like to see American's
winning
all the time so i watch eruopean players beat them. So i am happy to see
Patrick Rafter win the US Open.
GB> On the women's side, it's nice to see Hingis win. As a 16 year old
GB> male, it's impossible to not love Martina Hingis. But Venus Williams
GB> can't get down for not winning. When Hingis is at 100%, or even 80%
GB> she is unbeatable. And for the 66th ranked player in the world to make
GB> it to the finals of a grand slam, that's pretty amazing. I would have
GB> liked to see Seles in the Final though.
I think Seles is a great woman tennis player. But after watching
Hingis play that i really like her. She is young and beutyful and has that
european accent. And it is also fun to watch her legs move as she tries to
get to the ball to hit a great winner. I sure would like to meet her but
hat
would be impossible. But to watch her be number one in womens tennis and
watch
her play everybody is enough for me though it would be a dream to meet her.
