HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE FINDS EXTRA-SOLAR PLANET
NASA's Hubble Space Telescope found an intriguing extra-
solar planet in an unlikely place.
The discovery is the topic of the next Space Science Update
(SSU) on Thursday, July 10 at 2 p.m. EDT in NASA's James Webb
Auditorium, 300 E Street S.W., Washington.
Panelists include:
Dr. Harvey Richer, professor of astronomy and physics,
University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
Dr. Steinn Sigurdsson, assistant professor of astronomy,
Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pa.
Dr. Alan Boss, staff member, Carnegie Institution,
Washington.
Dr. Anne Kinney, director of astronomy and physics, NASA
Headquarters, Washington.
The SSU will be carried live on NASA Television with two-way
question-and-answer capability for reporters covering the
event from participating agency centers.
NASA Television is broadcast on AMC-2, transponder 9C, C-
band, located at 85 degrees west longitude. The frequency is
3880.0 MHz. Polarization is vertical, and audio is monaural
at 6.8 MHz. Audio of the broadcast will be available on voice
circuit at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Fla., by calling
321/867-1220/1240/1260.
