EG> I seriously doubt that. He's paying far less for rent in Fayetteville
EG> than he was in Hartford. The team is charging more than tickets than
EG> they were in Hartfordso while they aren't drawing as much as they did
EG> in Hartford, they're losing less than if they were using cut-rate
EG> pricing (Plus, they're NOT Fayetteville's team so like the Oilers,
EG> they're facing local resistence to subsidizing the team for two
EG> years). Yes, Hartford drew 15,000 fans last year, however, that was
EG> to try and keep the team. The 11,000+ that they were drawing before
EG> that was more of an indicator as to how the team had worn out its
EG> welcome.
First of all they are in Greensboro NC not Fayetville
and the the Greensboro Coliseum if you didn't know is the largest arena in
the NHL. Most of the season ticket holders are from the Raleigh area .
Hockey just needs to catch on in this area, i mean its popular here its just
that the isn't like the Charlotte Hornets, or the Carolina Panthers(last
season anyway) if they could beat a few big name teams they would sell more
tickets. Keith Primeau(or however you spell it) is starting to get right.
BTW which team do you think will win the All Star Game
