Hi Howard,
I believe the best NC clone for Win95 is Windows Commander. It's a GUI
app.. Apart from not having the "link" function, Windows Commander
actually works better than the real NC. The handling of the compressed
files is flawless. The current version is 3.03 and you can find it at
www.ghisler.com. By the way, it's a shareware. The download version is
fully funtional; it nags a little but doesn't expire.
There is a GNU version of NC clone called mc (midnight commander). It
works on just about every platform. However the Windows version doesn't
seem to work very well. The Linux version works beautifully though. Being
a GNU software, of course you can download the exe and source for free.
Hope the info helps.
