Terry accepted an invitation to the Tidy Bowl by saying:
TM> C'mon, at last check George is the 4th rated QB in the NFL. Yeah, he's
TM> had some bonehead plays here and there, but overall I think he's had a

Figures lie and liars figure.:-)
George has padded his stats against the morons of the league. He was above
100 playing a pretty easy schedule and then dropped to 88 after a 3 game
stretch that included Denver, Miami and KC. His rise to 91 was attributed to
a 1st half against Seattle that saw him throw for 3 TDs. The second half was
a prime example of why his numbers are misleading. His interceptions, while
meager, were thrown at the wrong time (Some guys have interceptions as Hail
Marys at the end of the half but that's not the case with him) and he stalled
a lot of drives by missing wide open receivers. The team ran 100 FEWER plays
than the year before when they had to *settle* for Hoss. They went 65 of 204
(31.9%) on 3rd down this year and 91 of 224 (40.4%) last year. That's worth
about 60-70 plays. Even on 4th down, they were 5 of 18 (27.8%) this year and
9 of 14 (64.3%) last year. He was also sacked 13 times more than the QBs were
last year (16 if you figure out Hoss only). His stats looked nice but they
were meaningless. He killed a lot of drives all by himself.
TM> You want disappointing? How about Brett Perriman with the Chiefs?
How about Elvis having Tunnel Vision. Perriman had his problems but don't
blame his problems only on himself.
