While I am not familiar with the Boat Men, it is worth noting a couple of
teams which kept their old names:
The Los Angeles Lakers!?!?!?!
and even worse:
The Utah JAZZ!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?
Of course, I live in Colorado where a team got renamed from the Rockies when
it moved to New Jersey, and where a team got renamed from the Nordique when 
t
moved here.
I liked it when the North Stars moved to the Lone Star State and dropped the
"North" from its name.
