| subject: | Re: Questions About NT 4 Workstation; I just bought a copy. |
From: Gary Britt Thanks but I've got an ancient version of Partition Magic 7. It does have the markers for the 8gb limit also. So it appears the correct understanding would be that the NT Partition itself (along with any partitions below the NT partition) need to reside within the first 8gb. That's not a requirement for XP what about Win2K? Is Win2K 8gb sensitive? Thanks, Gary Glenn Meadows wrote: > I believe it's that whatever partition NT boots from has to reside below > that point. > > I recall in earlier versions of Partition Magic, there were visual carats on > the drive map display at the 8 gig point, where early OS's had to reside > below that boundary, even if the partition was larger than that. > > I've got some ancient 4 and 6 gig HD's I could probably locate for you to > use as install partitions for NT4.....LOL > --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
