I only mentioned that if the server's network load is an issue it can =
optimize it. You haven't given any indication that there is even an =
issue here beyond the one of your imagination. And again, if you don't =
like thumbnails you can turn them off.

Ok Rich, nothing is impossible. I'm just trashing the idea of =
schleping this=20
off on the server when clearly it's vista that needs to meet my 2x4.

Just because you don't see how doesn't mean that it doesn't or =
can't=20
happen. As an ISP don't you see bandwidth throttled by usage even if =
you=20
don't support this yourself?

Well in this case the user would like to prioritize, in fact the =
user=20
would
like to prioritize it right off the list of things to do..
I honestly don't see how a server could prioritize it since it's =
simple=20
file
access which would all look the same from the server end.

Idle time not idle network. I don't know if network is =
prioritized.
Regardless the server can prioritize if it wishes.

Who defines the activity as "idle time"? The system doing the
activity? What if you have other systems sharing the bandwidth =
who=20
need
it? Does the "idle time" activity set a QOS bit that can be =
used to
prioritize traffic?
