A podcast I heard recently mentioned, casually, that Microsoft, also
casually, had announced that there will be an SP3 for XP this fall,
announced roughly when Server08 goes gold.  The stated reason is to bring
XP (paraphrased) "in line with the management features of Vista as a
client."

Being a cynic, sceptical of Greeks bearing gifts, this means to me:

1. Something will happen to make Win2k less useful in a domain, if not pure
agony to manage.  Probably both.

2. XP will now be as annoying as Vista on the Authent and Activation fronts.

3. I'd better put the Faraday cage around the bedroom again.
