| subject: | Webmail file size limitation question |
From: Richard B. We have consultants, some are much smaller firms, who use various ISPs to send email, like through Comcast. I have a Comcast account that I use for testing on occasion if I suspect a mail problem. Comcast has a 10 MB attachment file size limitation. I find if I send a 10.1 MB attachment, Comcast rejects it and reports the size as 13.41 MB. I had to send a 7.3MB file in order to have it sent through Comcast, who reported the sent file as 9.85 MB. Are they really saying that the transmitted file size is this large or is something else going on? I get lusers calling me day after day complaining so-and-so had their email rejected because of file size limitations. I can't get them to send me header info because they have no idea what I'm talking about, some can't even zip a file. Jeese I wanna live in the box under the bridge today! Before you say "ftp" that is out of my hands, they are looking into doing this elsewhere. FTP will come later, right now I have to deal with this particular hand I've been dealt. - Richard --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
