DEMENTIA: 2001!
Both Throwing Toasters and Rob Paravonian have been confirmed and added
to our list of performers appearing at "Dementia: 2001". There are still
plenty of tickets available, so please send in your preregistration
A.S.A.P.! The convention is being held on the weekend of Friday, March
30th; Saturday, March 31st; and Sunday, April 1st in Southfield, Michigan at
the Holiday Inn Southfield. Our guests include: Guest of Honor - Jon
"Bermuda" Schwartz; Guest Musical Performers - Tom Smith, Larry Weaver, the
great Luke Ski, Tony Goldmark, Power Salad, Bob Ricci, Sponge Awareness
Foundation, Robin Nakkula, Dan Hart, Throwing Toasters, and Rob Paravonian;
Demented Dance DJ - Jeff Morris. Preregistration for a 3-day convention
pass costs $40.00 per person. Make checks or money orders payable to "Bill

Something you all should keep in mind is that with less than a month to
go, you really need to send in for your passes as soon as possible.
Procrastination is not the way to go here, people. Your promptness will be
greatly appreciated. The Holiday Inn Southfield is located at 26555
Telegraph Rd. Their discounted room rates for the convention are $89.00 per
night for singles and doubles. To make room reservations, call the hotel at
1-(248)-353-7700. Note: To get discount rates, you have to tell them you
are with "the funny music convention". Please try to make your hotel room
reservations by March 9th. All events and guests are subject to change,

@ "Dementia: 2001" - Luke Ski's "UBER GEEK" CD COVER PHOTO SHOOT!
Wanna be on the cover of Luke Ski's next CD, "Uber Geek"? Here's all
you need to do. Come up with your best geek/nerd/dork costume. You can be
a traditional nerd, or you can get more elaborate and dress as a specific
type of geek. All those looking dorky enough to be deemed worthy of the
cover shoot will get a free copy of the CD when it is released some time
this Winter 2001. I'm looking for several people for this, in fact the
more, the better! So, put something together, and come be a part of Luke
Ski history! Here' s some lists of examples of different types of
nerd/geek/dork outfits I'm looking for people to dress up as. Perhaps
something here suits you? ell, maybe your costume is already finished, and
you don't even know it! Take a look!...
Geek Types:
Traditional Geek - "Revenge Of The Nerds" style, tape on glasses, pocket
protector, etc.
Trekkie - Classic Trek - Be sure to be wearing Vulcan ears, having a
Tribble(s) would be great too.
Trekkie - Current Trek - Pick a specific character if you like.
Klingon - You know the deal here. Go all out. The bigger, the better. Be
all you can be. Qapla!
Star Wars Geek - Be sure to incorporate a Yoda in there somewhere, an
"Episode II" script, or maybe dress as a Jedi, Jawa, Ewok, or Wookie?
Gamer Geek - Magic cards, dice, Mountain Dew, perhaps some LARP vampires or
something
Renaissance Festival Person - Usually, they already have a costume
Anime Geek - Usually, they already have a specific character costume
Computer / Video Gaming geek - Holding a copy of Game Informer, Bill
Gates-ish type of thing? Any ideas or suggestions on this concept?
Pokemon Geek - Some kind of Ash wanna-be with cards and toys and stuff. Or
better yet, 2 people dressed as Team Rocket!
Comic Book Superhero Fanboy - All dressed up in your best Marvel and/or DC
duds, complete with comics and copies of Wizard, & Toyfare magazine.
Filker - If we can just talk Tom Smith into it...
Rocky Horror Cast Member - Usually, they already have a specific character
costume.
Dementite, Dementoid, D-Fan - Hawaiian shirt, Top Hat, Eyeball hat, Straight
Jacket, Silver pants, any other suggestions?
