When you go into khalas , if you go
east, and jump onto the rock, you can jump off again into another
corridor.  If you continue through it, you will run into a statue, that
transforms into the "demon lord" if you dont have a hellcat.  He then
summons a whole crapload of imps, when you kill them all, and attack the
demon lord he says "Next time, try this." and gives you a hellcat .  I dont know if theres more to that or what..
