The Hashmarks
It might interest you to know that while Stewart does run, he doesn't have
the same kind of happy feet that McNair does. McNair is also the real deal,
however; I think that Stewart is way ahead of him, especially when it comes
to staying in the pocket and making the completion instead of taking off
ala Steve Pelluer.

Geez, I can't believe that with all the times that Humphries went down on
him, Bobby Ross kept Scott Mitchell in after Detroit went up 31-7.

I'm so tired of the way that some NFL publicist puts out some "fact" and
the media keeps repeating it as gospel when it isn't even true. One recent
(or fairly recent) "fact" is that Chicago and Green Bay is the oldest
rivalry in the NFL -- WRONG. The Bears and Cardinals are the oldest rivalry
going. Ok, I now that some of you might be thinking "Well, when the Cardinals
first played the Bears, the Bears were actually the Decatur Staleys. Since
the "Bears" didn't come into existence until 1922 then the Packers and Bears
were the oldest rivalry since then." Ah..WRONG..The Cardinals played the
ears
that year (Twice, in fact) AND would you believe it but the Bears didn't play
the Packers that year. Gee, don't you think that those media types would
actually look this crap up?

The Bleachers
Well, all the awards are in. Hope your favorite player won...:-)

I have to agree with a recent article in USA Today that said that MLB really
blew it by keeping their protected list a secret. What are they afraid of -
the fans or the players? They've never cared before about what each thinks so
I don't see where they get off keeping the list a secret. The fans already
think they're idiots so what would they lose by proving them right? :-)

Raise your hand if you honestly believe that the Dodgers lost $34 million
ver
4 years like they claim?

The Baseline
For the last couple of weeks, the Dallas Morning News has made some pretty
stupid mistakes in the NBA box scores. I don't mean in the way of numbers but
as far as team names. Once they gave the team the nickname for its hockey
team and recently they called the Toronto Raptors as the Toronto Blue Jays.
USA Today recently added their name to that list with their Wednesday Team By
Team Notes when they called one of the teams the Phoenix Raptors. Give them
credit for having the right logo for the Suns and for calling Toronto the
Raptors.:-)

Heart of a Champion? The Rockets have dismantled their team over the past
couple of years and Olajuwon has reverted back to the behavior that caused
the owner to question whether he was really injured or it was a negotiation
ploy. Rudy T got a lot of mileage out of the bs.
                                   ****
New Jersey has been so desperate for a big man to help Jayson Williams that
they tried to get Eric Montross back from Philly but a trade rule prohibited
that so they settled on Xavier McDaniel.
                                   ****
BTW, USA Today noted that the former owners of the Spirits of St. Louis will
make $54.1 million over the next 4 years. Their settlement, which is for as
long as there is a league, is for them to get 14.3% of the TV revenue that
goes to New Jersey, Indiana, Denver and San Antonio.
