-> I have to tell you, it gives me great pleasure to see teams fail after 
moving
-> to new cities.  The Tennessee Oilers also come to mind.  The more this 
happens,
-> the more teams will think a little longer before moving in the dead of 
night,
-> and perhaps cities will not be so willing to cave into demands.
The Edmonton Oilers are very close to my heart, Not only because
Edmonton is my home-town, but because the Oilers symbolize exactly what
is happening to professional sports. The skys the limit with the
salaries owners are willing to pay for professional athletes. Little by
little all the small town teams ( not just in Canada ) will have teams
that are simply unable to compete on the same level because of the high
price of a good team. The Oilers GM ( Sather ) has, in my humble opinion
been one of the leading soldiers on the front lines, trying to keep the
salaries reasonable, and thereby the smaller teams alive. As long as
there are Billionares out there just waiting with a roll of million
doller bills burning a hole in their pockets, the sports world will
continue to deteriate.
