Why does there have to be a ceiling?  There's no ceiling in any other 
profession.  As long as revenues keep going up, and there's no reason to 
expect them not to, then salaries will keep going up.

Of course, you probably know that the players agreed not to strike, if the 
owners would promise not to lock them out the following spring, when the 
players would have virtually no leverage.  You probably also know that the 
owners were found guildy of not bargaining in good faith, by Judge Sonia 
Sotomayor and three judges on the court of appeals.
So who really cancelled the World Series?  The players, who didn't want to 
strike, but it was the only way they could get the owners to negotiate in 
good faith, or the owners, who were found guilty several times of not 
negotiating in good faith, and would not agree to not lock out the players in 
return for not striking?
