Hi, Lance: I see from your messages, that you are quite a VICE fan! [g!] Maybe if we can get away with it here -- or if you might let me write to you at your email address (if you'll provide it, please!) -- I could ask you some questions about VICE. I've already downloaded v1.10 - and installed it on my IBM ThinkPad laptop computer. I can get the emulators to run (after I installed that other DOS file that it needs. Got that from www.simtel.net -- the DPMI or whatever it's called!). [g!] What I don't understand is how to get it to load programs off your PC's harddrive, to get them to RUN. Do you have to use your Commodore computer to create .d64 files out of your programs, and then port those over to the PC, and run them that way ... or what??? I have Errol Smith's program that creates and undoes the .d64 files. Have used that on my C=128 successfully a few times. And I have both the Big Blue Reader and Little Red Reader, with which I could port .d64 files from my actual Commodore equipment to the PC, so that's not the problem -- providing that is what needs to be done. If you could fill me in -- on how to get my actual C=128/C=64 programs to load and run on the VICE emulator, I'd appreciate any help you might be so gracious as to provide me. Also, is there anywhere that a person can go on the net, to be able to download a whole copy of the VICE docs? I can access the various (many) pages of the docs/FAQ that are off the VICE homepage, but I'd like to be able to download a text file (or .ZIP file) of the whole thing, all at once, if that is possible. Is such a thing available?? Anyway, again -- I thank you in advance for any/all help and info you might care to pass along to me on this. I look forward to hearing back from you! And have a G'day! :-) Sincerely, David Veatch - EastPointe BBS Remote Sysop --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Eastpointe BBS (1:120/228) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 120/228 11/200 261/38 123/500 106/1 379/1 633/267 |
