-> DN> Actually.. most of it comes from the public, when they phone in
-> DN> sports talk shows..
->
->What fans say are nothing more than opening their mouths to lip
->synch the words put into them by the press and the players.
I don't believe that's true. I was talking to a friend on the bus about the
ridiculous size of sports salaries a couple of years ago.. by the time I'd
reached my stop, we had 6 or 7 people in the bus involved in the
conversation.
It's one of those things that really bothers people on a personal level,
when they compare their salaries with that of a pro athelte. (Not that
they're right in this comparison.. no one's gonna pay to see a plumber fix
unclog a sink..) The fans find writers that agree with their opinions and
side with them.. but their initial anger with pro salaries starts with their
own (often misguided) opinions.
-> DN> How about leaving the latter half of that statement alone and j
-> DN> with "Modern players are greedy"? Do you find fault with that
-> DN> statement?
->
->Yes, I find a lot.
Then explain player strikes.
