subject: SPEAKERS!

JL> I mainly used Final Fantasy 7, Crash Bandicoot 2, and Soul Blade, which
JL> has some excellent music. My speakers aren't that great, just the Altec
JL> Lansings that came with my computer. The satellite speakers are ok but
JL> the subwoofer lacks any real kick, even when it is corner loaded. I may
JL> upgrade to some Cambridge Microworks for my computer and transplant the
JL> Altec Lansings to the tv.
That's why I bugged my parents to get the top-of-the-line Altecs and avoid
the mid-range ones. They were somewhat forced to, however, since it turns
out the output jack on our AWE64 Gold is a more traditional stereo connector
(gold-plated, too), which the mid-range ones didn't seem to have.
But what you have planned for your TV isn't that bad. Beats the heck out
of the usually inept speakers that are put into TVs.
That reminds me... a game to try with your PSX and an improved speaker
setup: Formula 1. The soundtrack is a blasting rock-like collection, and
good speakers really bring it to life.
