Hopefully there may be SKS linux-linspire users that can
assit my full madia use of the CD-Rom device that functioned
ok with the version 4.5 linspire OEM OS supplied with the
PowerSpec 1405 PC; but after I updated the linspire OS to the
more recent Five-0 version, the desktop icon no longer accesses
the CD-ROM device for data reading.

It will play music cds when accessed by the player program,
KsCD, I installed by the linspire CNR service included with
the original purchase from MCI; so I think the CD device is
ok and accessable.
