Elmer I don't know about the rules in the United States but most people up here in Canada belong to the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada which helps get frequencies, Sets out guidelines for different events, etc. Even though the name says "Aeronautics" boaters still join to be covered by a GOOD insurance coverage. If the meet is sanctioned by MAAC then all you need is insurance coverage recognized by MAAC such as the AMA. If you belong to another national organization that insures the members let me know via NetMail to 1:17/63 or Internet at maint@telusplanet.net the name of the organization and I'll find out if it's recognized by MAAC and let you know. If the event isn't sanctioned then all you need is a radio on a frequency allowed for use by boats. Let me know the frequency and I can tell you if it's allowed in Canada.
