Yep I think that about sums it up. I 'm not so much a loner as alone.
I just don't go anywhere that I really don't have to.
RM> environmental control beaurocracy. We only have one landing

Hell! My whole swamp area is only 800 foot by 200. Half of it is water.
I guess I'll have one of them STOL strips:-)
RM> closely mowed and with 100

I am still thinking of a harder surface but Can't think of any other excuse
for building one except as a runway. Must appease my wife with my
expenditures:-)

So it does grow though. I don't have sand but a mixture of peat, decaying
wood bits and ash and clay. All dredged and apparantly all leached of growth
hormones. It was a dry summer though.

Now don't hold your breath waiting. I've been building that strip for about 8
years and the last attempt at flying was about that long ago as well. I have
had others fly outa here so i atleast know my air is good.
Have you run into anymore of them Staggerwings yet. I still have mine NIB in
the rafters of my (soon to be old) shop. I actually have four birds waiting
on me now. I got my own gentle lady, the thing called a puddle master that
Larry Marshall sorta talked me into getting, The staggerwing and a lazybee.
Sheesh and I haven't toughed my stamp collection in three years either
allabes
