Yeah, maybe Portland. I've been stumping for MLB in Portland for a number
of years (as a die-hard Beavers/PCL fan), and -- honestly -- it's never
going to happen here. The fans are great and we could *at least* out-draw
Oakland (!!), but the ER Commission refuses to build a stadium, or even take
part in building one. God Bless Civic Stadium, and all that, but at 22K, it
can't support a MLB team. The fans are super here; it was Joe Buzas, the
worst owner in professional baseball, that killed expansion. the "Portland
Devil Rays"???? Maybe. But not before I collect social security.
BTW, Las Vegas would be an *excellent* candidate for future expansion;
there's money and interest -- of which Portland only has the latter.
