I have a couple of hand units from Mustek.(matadore and a scooter) One I
bought new and a week later I phoned for help to get it to run on win95 and
was told it was not supported beyond win 3.1. I wasn't very happy with them
folks. I did however keep a 486 up and running so I can get my scanning
done. I haven't seen and neg scanners from them though. I even used the
scanner to capture parts from plans and then print to cut a paper pattern.
(that to keep it legal on this echo)

RL> (by today's standards). A pair of 6V6s or 6L6s will run me about
RL> $30 or so. The transformers, by comparison, for a 15 to 30 watt
RL> guitar amp would run close to $200 (new Hammond).
I never even considered saving the transformers:-( I must have chucked quite
a few in the past few years. I have been cleaning up some old junk to give
myself construction room.
I am just getting into alot of the new electronic toys, CD's and video,
surround sound etc.....I might even get a TV someday soon:-)
