What pollsters? I've heard some in the media whine, but none that have
identified themselves as pollsters. Frankly, I think Spurrier SHOULD run up
the score as much as he can, under the current system.

Al loves trophies, doesn't he? He way overpaid for Larry Brown's Super Bowl
MVP trophy, too. Ironically, the one trophy he let get away, Marcus Allen,
came back to bite him, repeatedly. And Raider fans still think this guy's a
genius?

The latest rumor I heard was that they're considering allowing zone defenses,
because they think the clear-out play is keeping scores down. And they think
zones will make scores go UP? If so, they really ARE stupid.

What recent comments? From all accounts I read and saw, this is VERY OLD
stuff, that has just recently been drudged up by the NY Times and blown way
out of proportion. AFAIK, Jones has never said there was any chance he WOULD
coach, but only that it's always been a dream of his, but that he couldn't do
it realistically.
Of course, long after Jones flatly denied there was any chance that he'd ever
coach, Brent Musburger was still trying to make a big deal out of it.
... Hockey players do it between periods.
