If your getting a UUCP feed, FXUUCICO and InterGate section of:
http://www.multiboard.com I use intergate because I find that most of
Multiboards utilities are very well documented and easy to set up.. once you
have it set up you can do a heck of a lot... it will toss into Jam areas
seemlessly with telegard.

Hhmmmm, not sure why I have a ~SM at the start of the decompress
command. Maybe it didn't work for me without it. It does work with it so I'm
not going to mess with it. :) Anyway, after doing that just go to the file
menu and use the convert archive command and bingo! TG will zip or rar or arj
(etc.) up all thoes text files! To use it on other files just change the
extention to search for. I wouldn't recommend automatically compressing all
EXE's in your file areas though, 'cause that would get the self extractors
too, and stuff like PKZ204G.EXE should be left as-is for various reasons.
Oh, and don't forget to go back and set the TXT archive type to inactive when
you're done (like I do {G}), or else it will let people do stupid things
like select TXT as an archive type for QWK packets. There's no danger in it,
it just won't work obviously. Hey Tim! If you're reading this, how about
changing that "active" toggle to an SL setting so I can just put
it in there
and forget about it? :) Oh, and also if you're not multinode, remove the
~CN from the decompress command line.

You do not need NetMgr with Telegard. TG and GEcho should be able to handle
your E-Mail/Netmail like true netmail. That is what I have done over here. I
have set a base up to be E-Mail. Then in TG where it asks for the UUCP
address stick Jason's 1:153/8016. Then below that is a switch for ANTIQUATED
UUCP Turn that off. Ok next in GEcho Create a AREA for
E-Mail and set it to netmail for it's type. Ok next go to where you put your
AKA's in GEcho and make sure your FidoNet address or point has that area as
your netmail area. Ok. Now when you toss or scan for mail this is yoru
command line

SCAN: GECHO SCAN PACK -HOLK
TOSS: GECHO TOSS IMPORT

I hope this helps.. I never liked NetMgr and worked this out with another TG
sysop in the area not too long ago. Before I just had GECHO import E-Mail as
netmail into my netmail area in TG. Get rid of NetMgr and use GEcho's Built
in Netmail abilities.

Yea.. See above... :> I have SHARE.EXE and Smartdrv 8064 running when I'm in
dos... And when I'm in Win95.. I PRAY! :> But you got great software, TG..
There is nothing better.

If you want more help with this you can E-Mail me at

Here's something I whipped up... for use with non-multinode doors with
multinode systems. It uses the semaphore file called IN.USE. It's a
0-byte file created in the door directory and deleted upon exit of the
door. This batch file assumes:

1) There's a different config file for each node for each door.
2) You are passing ~CN to the batch file from the menu (I.E. "c:\tg\rescue.bat
~CN").
3) If you don't run Desqview (I doubt many of you do), omit the DVANSI line.
4) The inuse.com file is a little ANSI warning screen I made using TheDraw.

Here is the batch file:

{at}echo off
dvansi
cd c:\doors\rescue
if exist in.use goto inuse
cd . >> in.use
if %1%.==1. goto node1
if %1%.==2. goto node2
:node1
rescue rescue.cfg
if exist in.use del in.use
cd c:\tg\temp1
goto end
:node2
rescue rescue2.cfg
if exist in.use del in.use
cd c:\tg\temp2
goto end
:inuse
c:\tg\inuse.com
pause
:end

I hope this helps someone.... I finally figured out why I was getting swap
errors by not pointing TG to the right directory.

Later,
Sean

That was just a matter of convenience at the time. If you
run NETMGR before you import netmail (and, of course,
specify the MSG directory instead of the JAM base), then
you can extract before it's imported.

You do not need NetMgr to have Squish-format netmail. Put the

OK, here's what I did to make this function available.

1) File System Configuration; enable N-List uploader
2) FileBase access ie s25. Make sure your validated callers have the S flags

3) Line 525 in your language file (TG309G2), modify and add

Uhm, why? It can be done with a script, man, and with relatively little
diffculty. I have three local area codes.. if the phone number isn't equal to
any of those, it's LD, end of story. :) Means three very quick tests in a
script to set a Boolean variable. If the modem supports CID, it becomes
even *easier* to test, via the CID MCI codes. You don't even have to
trust the user.

SD> from what I gather, the new scripting language planned for g3 is suppo

:) The current language can handle what y'all are describing very very easily.

Example script, assuming ~UE for Data Phone number. Substitute ~UD for voice,
~ID for current CID, or ~VO for last verified CID number (which is probably
going to be the same as ~ID if you're running from the NEWUSER.SCR ;))

VARIABLE LDCALLER BOOLEAN
VARIABLE AREACODE STRING
AREACODE "~EL3~UE"

LDCALLER "NO"

IF NOT "$AREACODE$" "770"
  LDCALLER "YES"
ENDIF

IF NOT "$AREACODE$" "404"
  LDCALLER "YES"
ENDIF

IF NOT "$AREACODE$" "678"
  LDCALLER "YES"
ENDIF

That would test for my local areacodes. From there on out, script what takes
place depending on the value of LDCALLER. :)

Try mapping a drive to that Directory and then setting the sharing rights on

password.

Be sure and set the directories in telegard on all machines (yes even the
local one) to the mapped drive (yes map the drive on the local machine, even
if it is a drive on that machine, still map it to a common drive), say use
drive G: and set drive G: on all machines to the Telegard path. Then in
Telegard Setup set the directories to G:\corresponding_dir
